It Doesn't Have To Be Perfect

“Perfection is the enemy of creativity.”
Bangambiki Habyarimana

You've likely heard phrases such as "get out of your head" or "get out of your own way."

You may feel stuck or overwhelmed if you feel like things aren't "good enough" or "perfect."

Think of a professional or personal skill that you have.

How long have you had that skill?

What makes you confident in that skill?

Does that confidence mean that you are always perfect in that skill?

Skill and confidence come from trying new things, practicing, and building resilience around failure.

If you think you have to be perfect at something before you allow yourself to try it, then you will likely never feel good enough or ready.

Utilize your supports and ask for help.

Do your research and some prep work.

Give yourself the benefit of the doubt.

Take on a growth mindset by allowing yourself to try, fail, learn, and grow.

Allow yourself to be human.
